Pre-Radiology RAN Update

We are very excited to invite you to join the Pre-Radiology section of the Radiology Advocacy Network! The goal of the Pre-Radiology RAN is to advocate for the interests of radiologists at local, state, and national levels and educate students regarding legislative and regulatory developments. Our group works with the ACR RAN chair, Dr. Amy Patel, and the RFS to allow students to collaborate with other students and network with others in the health and radiology advocacy network. This year we have been reformed as a subcommittee under the ACR MSS and will work directly with other MSS committees.

  • The Pre-Radiology RAN hosts monthly meetings where we invite speakers to discuss different topics related to advocacy.
  • Speakers include physicians and advocacy leaders and offer a great opportunity to network.
  • Students also have the opportunity to present on topics within healthcare and advocacy to a national group of students.
  • Additionally, we will host workshops and provide ways to keep students connected and learn more about how the legislative/advocacy process works.
  • Members will be grouped by geographical regions based on where their program is located.
  • These regions will be organized by regional coordinators and allow students to meet with and work on local projects together.
  • Regions will be chosen to present to the entire group at a monthly meeting to update on local advocacy movements or a national topic.
  • Attend monthly Pre-Radiology RAN meetings where we will discuss the interests of radiologists at the local, state, and national levels.
  • When possible, attend your ACR Chapter meetings. (When you sign up to be an ACR member, you are automatically registered as a member of your state chapter)
  • When possible, attend ACR RAN-sponsored events.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of calls to action, letters to legislators, fundraisers, etc.
